Renovation of an Existing Building and New Construction of a Pavilion
The architectural project is composed of two buildings connected by a suspended slab: an existing office building to be rethought in terms of distribution and facade, and a newly constructed pavilion.
The office building represent the opportunity to reflect on how the redesign of the envelope can trigger a substantial transformation of the interior spaces: in this case, a cartesian layout consistent to the rhythm of the facade allow for the creation of separate areas without compromising the perception of a unified, open floor space.
The second building (the customer centre pavilion) requires generous heights and large surfaces, making it possible to explore the aesthetic and sculptural aspects of the composition. The proposal is based on a simple construction system that defines a compact, opaque base and a translucent upper band, giving the volume a mutable and dynamic appearance.
