STANZE PRIVATE
Design of a Multifunctional Space in Taipei
On the tenth floor of a newly constructed building in the historic Dazhi district (Taipei), the project aims to merge three very different functions into a single envelope: a meeting space, a lounge for socializing with friends in the evening, and a tea salon with a meditation area.
The lounge and meditation rooms take on closed forms, both in white— the former more ethereal, the latter more cozy and textile. The other functions are instead interconnected with the use of wooden walls with varying degrees of transparency. Two portholes mark the transition between the lounge and the kitchen, while a marble arch separates the lounge from the tea salon.
